  • God Is Faithful: A Journal Entry

This is a first for christinesawyer.net but I thought I’d take a moment to post an article that is more of a journal entry than an actual article. The past few weeks have been very crazy but I have been trusting God to take care of the things I don’t understand. In the past two weeks I have had to seek God for an answer to a life decision that I was unsure of, I’ve been looking for a car, trying to get through each day of work as it comes, I’ve been working on two separate writing projects and I’ve been trying to split my time equally amongst my various obligations. Overall at 24 years old the realities of being an adult have been hitting hard this year and I was worried it would be too stressful for me but God has been faithful to me the whole time keeping me afloat and giving me perspective. I’ve been learning to trust Him with everything, the big, the small and everything in between. While on twitter one day I read a tweet that said “Allow God to reveal and show Himself to be faithful” and over the past few weeks I’ve been trying to seek God and trust His will, will be done in my life. This is how it went:

As I prayed for the answer to that big life decision awaiting an answer for over a week (that I felt like I already knew what the answer would be but wanted to be patient and wait for confirmation) God reminded me that He was listening and sent the confirmation through a family friend who called me up out of nowhere to tell me something they felt God wanted me to know. This phone call confirmed what I felt God wanted me to do in regards to this decision and thus I received my confirmation. It also confirmed the season I felt God was leading me to. I had a peace about the decision and I’m grateful to God for keeping His promise from Matthew 7:7 when Jesus said “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” I sought the Lord and He answered me. It took a while but in the waiting He taught me the importance of patience and faith, that you need both to serve God.

Since then I have been in search of a car and seem to be coming up with dead ends everywhere I turn. I was getting discouraged because I felt that I couldn’t afford anything I was finding and anything I could afford had some problems with the gears or the transmission etc. I was starting to feel a bit hopeless, then I talked to a friend and he reminded me that God is faithful. I laid in bed one night and said to God “If You want me to have a car You’re going to have to provide for me because I can’t do this on what I’m making working right now.” A few days later I received my yearly review at work. Not only did I get a really good review but I received a more than generous raise. While I still haven’t found a car in my searching I truly believe that God will provide a car when the time is right. Not a crazy expensive car but a modest one that will get me back and forth to work. God is a provider so when He says it’s time for me to have one He will provide it. I’m not going to sweat it but I’m going to trust. God will take care of me. While for a few days I was discouraged about the outcome of my search, I realize that God knows what I need and when I need it and so I don’t need to force what God has not blessed. I will keep looking and keep praying and one day I will have my own car.
    Matthew 6:25-34
‚ÄúTherefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”

The next part probably won’t seem like it fits in this post but it will. I was on twitter after the initial tweet about God showing Himself to be faithful and I saw a tweet by a very well known youtube singer/songwriter that some of you may know as Tyler Ward. (*I do not know Tyler Ward personally nor is he affiliated with this page) Tyler had posed the question “If you could know only one thing about your future, what would you choose to know? OR…would you prefer not to know?” I generally don’t tweet people who are popular on twitter because I know they are busy and don’t have time to respond but Tyler seems like someone who tries to acknowledge his fans to the best of his abilities. So I posted response to his tweet saying “as cool as it’d be to know about the future I think there is a beauty in the not knowing because that’s where faith comes in.” A few hours later I received a response from Tyler Ward. It was short and as I mentioned earlier Tyler and I do not know each other but it was an answer. I don’t know the reason why Tyler asked that question on twitter but what I do know and what he may not have realized when asking this question was that his question posed was the answer to my own questions. That we may not always know what’s going to happen in our lives whether it be good or bad the beauty of the not knowing is in the fact that God does and that’s where faith comes in. It got me thinking about the beauty of faith and the not knowing. It says in Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Without hope we can not have faith, the two work hand in hand. The not knowing teaches us to trust God and have hope in Him and when we have that we have faith. While things don’t always go the way we’d like them to we can rest in knowing that God is indeed faithful and God is indeed looking out for us and taking care of us.

God over the past few weeks has shown Himself to be faithful even though things didn’t completely work out the way I had thought they would. As I’ve trusted God the past few weeks He has proven Himself faithful just as the twitter page had encouraged me to trust. The more I’ve trusted, the more I’ve sought, the more I’ve trusted, the more that He has inspired me to write and to extend myself in other areas of my life. I looked for a car, talked to dealers and inquired about a loan. I didn’t get a car but I learned a lot about myself and I grew a little bit more as a person. All these things that made me nervous and a bit timid before I have pursued. I received confirmation from God through a family friend, encouragement from another friend and extended myself on twitter and received an answer. On this end note God is faithful and He knows what He’s doing. I’m grateful for the past few weeks because God used all different situations to teach me a lot. Sometimes we have to fight to remember what we already know and over the past few weeks God has shown Himself to me and has reminded me of those things through many different circumstances and people. It’s amazing how God speaks to us if we would only listen. So the next time you feel hopeless or are lacking in faith remember, God is always faithful: He keeps His promises to those who serve and seek Him, if you seek God with all of your heart you will find God (Jeremiah 29:13) and God speaks to us all differently and it’s important to never forget to listen when asking for the answers: you never know what, when where and through whom He will speak.
    Love and God Bless,
    Christine

Oh and this was the tweet I was talking about: *Note Tyler Ward and myself do not know each other personally and Tyler Ward is not affiliated with this page.

  • Future Generations Life

I am pro-life because I believe that every life is precious and every life has purpose to God. Every baby that was aborted had a call had a reason that God sent them and man decided that their plans were more important, decided that their plans were worth the cost of a baby’s life. It’s selfish and the price is too high. Every baby deserves the chance to be born, to live, to grow, to love. God is a pro creative God and abortion is anti-creation. It is wrong and it needs to be stopped. There are woman believing the lies of organizations like Planned Parenthood. These women need to be taught the truth and shown the evils of it. For the women who have already fallen into it and had an abortion they need to know of God’s forgiveness and the voice that they can have to stop abortion and save the future generations. We can’t change what happened already but we can change today and we can change the future. I believe in the future generations, I believe in life. There is a generation of babies that will not be because of the choices made yesterday, but if we take a stand for the babies today if we stand for their lives and their chance at life, we Will be the change. We will be the generation that chooses Life over death. We will be the generation that stops abortion. We can save the future generations. We are all God’s children the born and the unborn.

  • Vision And The Holy Spirit

    Matthew 13:9-16
“9 He who has ears, let him hear.” 10 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” 11 He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. 14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: ” ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. 15 For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’ 16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.”

Vision does not come from the eyes but through the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit man has no vision. Without the Holy Spirit man is spiritually blind. In order to see the life God has for us we must first receive the Holy Spirit and allow Him to open our eyes to His will. It’s the same with our hearing Jesus said “He who has ears to hear let him hear.” Without the Holy Spirit we cannot hear what God is saying to us and in turn a man without guidance will wander aimlessly until he surrenders to The Spirit of God.

  • Leadership by: Myles Munroe

We all have the ability to lead. It’s a gift that God has given all of us. The extent of leadership may be different for each person but God can call any of us into leadership. Don’t be afraid to be the example for once, to stand up and direct people to where God wants them to go because it’s in you and He can draw it out. Have faith, stand strong, and follow God’s lead. God is the ultimate leader and He created us in His image. Be a leader by His strength today. Sometimes you lead people by just being you, by being an example. You never know what God is working on your behalf in the lives of others. God doesn’t want you to be afraid of this.

  • Our Nation, Sight, Vision, Our Eyes

    Proverbs 29:18
“Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.”

This nation is suffering because of its lack of vision of Who God is. Our nation is losing itself because it’s losing sight of God. Why are we losing sight of God? Because we are too busy trying to figure out how far we can push the line before what we are doing is considered sin or wrong. Instead of focusing on the things we want to do or think we want to do we need to start focusing on what God is instructing us to do and what His Word says is right and just. We are losing sight of what our country was founded on and what we as a church are suppose to do to preserve it’s traditional values and morals. This nation was founded on God and until we give it back to Him it will continue to fall apart and fall into a downward spiral. We can be the change, but first we need to ask God for the vision. We need to see Him again and we can only do that y repenting and asking Him to reveal Himself to us once more. God wants us to be leaders, so let’s start leading. God wants this nation’s heart back.
In Exodus 20:4-6 God says “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.” This nation has put it’s list for sin over God and God doesn’t take it lightly. God wants our souls back and we need to ask for His forgiveness and ask for His sight back and when we do He will forgive us just as He has promised in
1 John 1:19 where it says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Our nation can be saved but it starts with us and a repentant heart to our God and Saviour. Through Jesus we have hope and a future.image

  • A Man With A Dream and A Woman With Vision

One of the biggest make or breaks for many Godly men in the Bible was a woman. An unGodly woman brought the man to ruin, but the Godly woman brought him honor and great support. God created the woman to be the helper. Ladies please be a Godly woman for your husband. There’s only two beings he’ll share his dreams with God and you. He’ll take you at your word, don’t be the reason he fails or fails to try. When making a decision that God has instructed him for his family he’ll need all the respect and support you can give. Cause you have the power to make or break him with your words and actions.

  • The Cost

The cost of not following Jesus is a lot higher than the cost of following Him. To be out from under His grace and forgiveness is a burden much too heavy for the human heart to carry.

  • How Long: A Wayward Nation

How much longer will this nation call what is good evil and what is evil good? How much longer will the church sit back and be silent while the nation redefines our culture legalizing gay marriage and saying people like Bruce Jenner are heroes and our soldiers are called scum?
A nation where Christians are forced to go against their beliefs because of political correctness. Where authority is questioned and lawlessness runs rampant. This happened in the Bible during Elijah’s time. When Elijah went to Mt. Carmel Israel was in a time where they had forsaken God’s commands and turned to worshipping Baal. Jezebel was out executing the prophets of God. This nation is being punished greatly for its choices. The Bible talks about calling good evil and evil good in Isaiah 5:20 it says “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” God is not pleased with our decisions and our rebellion and we are suffering greatly for our choices. It’s up to the church to stop sleeping and stand up for Truth, to stand up for God’s Word and God’s laws. In 2 Chronicles 7:14 it says “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” If we repent and ask God for forgiveness he will bring healing to our land. As Christians we must ask God to help us be courageous enough to tell the truth and lead the way to repentance. God will show Himself to this nation and He will have the last word so choose wisely which side you will be on. The Bible says God is an all consuming fire anything that belongs to Him remains but anything that is not will be destroyed.

  • Nail Scarred Hands

Scars can be a reminder of a painful past or a symbol of a glorious future victory. It all depends on how you look at it. Jesus’ nail scarred hands remind me of the victory I have in Him. The victory I have because of the pain He endured at the cross. Jesus’ painful time leading up to and at the cross left scars on the hands of the Saviour of the world and it is in those scars that I can overcome.
Because Jesus told us He wouldn’t take us out of the world but that He would give us the strength to overcome it. We experience pain but the pain is but a moment before the victory. My scars remind me of all He’s given me victory over.
