The Hard Work That Comes With Faith

“Jesus did not call us to a passive faith. He never told us that following Him was a short cut to an easier life. The truth is that real faith in Christ requires plenty of bumps, bruises, and elbow grease. Faith is active and those God used most throughout scripture were those willing to work through their faith, making room for Him to move. In this clip from our series Get Back, Pastor Steven explains how to begin activating your faith.” Steven Furtick

A relationship with God requires work. I have been told many times “God is not a magic trick.” In James 2:26 it says “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” For instance you pray and ask God to help you get a job and you believe He will give you one, but instead of going out and filling out applications you just sit in your house waiting for someone to knock at your front door offering you one. God isn’t going to drop a job from the sky, He can but most likely you are going to have to put out effort as well as pray. God wants you to be pro active in your walk with Him, He wants you to seek Him and want to know Him. It’s like if you ask someone to be your friend and then you don’t talk to them, or care about them, or care what they think. They want to know you and you said you wanted to know them but then you don’t put any effort into knowing them.
