  • Nail Scarred Hands

Scars can be a reminder of a painful past or a symbol of a glorious future victory. It all depends on how you look at it. Jesus’ nail scarred hands remind me of the victory I have in Him. The victory I have because of the pain He endured at the cross. Jesus’ painful time leading up to and at the cross left scars on the hands of the Saviour of the world and it is in those scars that I can overcome.
Because Jesus told us He wouldn’t take us out of the world but that He would give us the strength to overcome it. We experience pain but the pain is but a moment before the victory. My scars remind me of all He’s given me victory over.

  • God Is Everywhere

    1 John 4:16-19
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us.

Every time I watch Frozen I think about this Scripture verse. The whole movie Elsa is running away in fear and she convinces herself that she has found true freedom by being isolated and alone where no one can see her. It’s not until Anna saves Elsa from Hans that Elsa realizes that what she needed the whole time was Love. It wasn’t isolation she needed but to accept the Love that was being offered to her the whole time.

As people we tend to do that with God. We do things that we regret and then in fear we run. We run from God, we run from people, and we even try to run from ourselves. We run ourselves into an inward isolation and we turn to other things to help us forget what we’re trying to hide. Then we try to convince ourselves we have a handle on things. When in all reality we don’t. Our problems are still there they are just swept under a rug and even though no one else may be able to see them we know they are still there.

There is someone else who knows they are still there and that’s Jesus. Jesus was sent to earth by Our Heavenly Father to die on the cross and pay the price for our sins. Jesus took our punishment and in Him we are forgiven. Because of what Jesus did you can come before the Father and He will forgive you, He will take your shame, the things of your past that try to torment you and the burden away from you. The Bible tells us that God is Love and that Perfect Love casts out fear. That those in God’s Love are made perfect. That anyone who fears is walking in judgment and have not been made perfect in Love because God’s Love casts out fear and in Christ Jesus there is no judgment.

When we trust in Jesus we see that we have nothing to fear and although things may try to come against us in Jesus we can overcome them. It’s when we focus on our troubles instead of Jesus that we start to fear. But if we focus on Jesus instead of our troubles we will not fear.
When Elsa realized that Anna loved her and was willing to give her life up for her that was when her fear left her and the storm that tormented her had to leave. It’s the same with us. When we realize that Jesus loves us so much that He suffered on the cross, gave His life for us, died on the cross, and rose again even though we didn’t deserve it, we find that God loves us more than we could ever imagine and we can trust that He will protect us from all evil and He will give us strength for a new day. God will take our shame, our pain and make something beautiful.

God loves you very much. He wants to take your pain away and the burdens you carry from your past, from your sin. All you have to do is give your life to Him accept Jesus as your Saviour and He will forgive you.

    If you want Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour say this prayer;

    Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before you asking that you would forgive me. I’ve made mistakes and I realize that I am a sinner. I ask that Jesus would come into my heart and be The Lord and Saviour of my life. I ask that you would make me new Father and cleanse me of my transgressions. Help me to be who You called me to be from this day forward. I ask this in Jesus Name I pray amen.
    John 8:11b
Jesus: “Go and sin no more.”
    (John 8:1-11)

Jesus too changes our heart because of His Love and because of what He did on the cross.
    In Ezekiel 36:26 it says:
“26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

Jesus changes our hearts to that we can love and have The Fruits of The Spirit through His Holy Spirit. (See Galatians 5:22-23)

    John 15:12
“12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

  • Forgiven Stretched Out Hand (Accompanying Song: Love Has Come For Me By Colton Dixon)

The day that we realize we can’t save ourselves is the day we realize how much we need God. God will meet you where you are. If you’re waiting until you get fixed up to come to God, then you’ve got it all wrong. You can’t fix yourself up before you come to God. Without God it is impossible to be anything than our human nature. You have to just come to Him, mess and all, surrendering your life and all of those troubles to God. God wants you, He loves you, and He wants the best for you. The penalty of sin is death, physical and spiritual. That punishment was ours, but God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, so that we could be forgiven. So that we could live with Him for all of eternity. Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the biggest and best decision you’ll ever make. You just have to turn to Him, admit that you are a sinner, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and ask Him to come into your heart to be your Lord and Savior. His hand is stretched out to you, all you have to do is take it.

    John 3:16-21
“16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”

    Romans 10:9
“9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

    Matthew 16:24-27
“24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.”

    Romans 6:1-14
Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ
’6 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.”

  • Disqualified To Qualified/ Redeemed, Forgiven, Called (Accompanying Song: Not Guilty By Mandisa)

It is both amazing and humbling to me to think that God can take a disqualified person like me and make me qualified in His Son Jesus to preach His Love to the world. Everyday He is making me new and qualifying me to teach about different things. For example forgiveness. Sometimes I struggle in this area, but God continues to help me grow in this area qualifying me to share how His power helps me to overcome any unforgiveness in my heart.
God never owed me anything, in fact I owed Him. God knew I couldn’t pay my debt so He paid it for me and He gave me everything. All I want is to serve Him all the days of my life.

In my walk with God the enemy constantly tries to make me feel disqualified because of my sins, he tries to make me feel like I’m not worthy of God’s calling for my life. But everytime the enemy tries to make me feel this way I am reminded by God that I am His and that in Jesus I am qualified. I was recently in a time like this and God reminded me that my best to Him is as filthy rags because of my sin, so even if I did everything I could to do right on my own it still wouldn’t be enough. That it is only in Jesus that I am forgiven and God has the authority to forgive me and so if He says I am forgiven then I am forgiven and nothing can change that. The enemy has no place to tell me I am unforgiven, he doesn’t have the authority in the first place because I belong to God in Christ Jesus.

So today if you are feeling unworthy, disqualified, or unforgiven I want to pray with you because God wants you to know that He loves you and that in Jesus you are forgiven of any sins. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, if you are in Christ you are made new and today is a new day. God has a calling for your life and He will prepare you for it, just trust Him. In Jesus you are worthy, you are qualified, and you are forgiven.

Father God, we praise You and thank you for Your amazing Love. We thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins and pay the debt we could not pay. Father God, we ask that You would forgive us for our sins and that You would help us to be more like Jesus. We ask that you would prepare our hearts for the calling You have on each and everyone of our lives and that You would brings us to where You want us to be. Father God we ask for Your Love to shine through us so that others can see You and that You give us the courage to share Your Word with others. I pray that all those who hear Your Word Father God would be touched by Your Holy Spirit and that they would find healing and rest in Your Loving arms. In Jesus Name I pray Amen

  • In Jesus We Are Forgiven (Accompanying Song: Mercy Tree By Lacey Sturm)

May you know how much God loves you. God loves you so much that he sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for your sins. Jesus took the punishment we deserved, He was beaten, bruised, spit on, and hung on a cross by His own creation so that He could save us from our sins. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice and in Him we are given victory over the enemy. We are given victory over our pain, our suffering, our struggles, fears, and any evil thing that tries to come against us. God can take the shattered pieces of our hearts and put them back together. God’s hand is stretched out to you through Jesus Christ. Please take it, He will change your life into something so beautiful. No matter what you’ve done God will take you in if you will give your life to Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour. When you ask for forgiveness God looks on Jesus instead of you and we are forgiven. For we are a sinful people but the Bible says in John 3:16 “For God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” This is God’s promise to us. So as you go through today know that in Christ Jesus you are forgiven, know that you are loved, and know that because of Jesus the enemy can no longer point fingers at you because you belong to God.
