    John 13:34-35 (NIV)
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

    Romans 12:9-21
    Love in Action
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[c] Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:

    “If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[e]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

As God’s children how often do we really show God’s Love to others ?
I ask this question knowing that I too am guilty of not walking in God’s Love sometimes. As people it’s so easy to get entangled in our human nature. Our human nature does not want to love, it wants to be angry and unforgiving. It wants to let someone know when we are not happy with them. God tells us in His Word that we are to love on another and not only the people who are nice to us, but to love our enemies as well. In order to love our enemies we need God, it’s not easy to love our enemies but with God we can. We are to be an example of God’s Love and in order to do that we need God’s help. If you are struggling with forgiving someone who has hurt you and you are feeling anything but love towards that person pray and ask God to help you forgive them. Than ask God to help you show His Love towards them.

Father God, we praise you and thank you for Who You are. You are worthy to be praised, there is no one like You. Father God we ask that You will help us to forgive our enemies and that You would send Your Holy Spirit to work on our hearts, so that it be changed so that we can show Your Love those who have hurt us. Father God we ask that when we come in contact with the ones who have hurt us that Your Holy Spirit would give us the words to say. So that we may walk in Your Love. Help us to have a right heart Father God. As it says in Psalm 51:10 “Create in m a pure heart O God and renew a steadfast Spirit within me.” Please help us Father God to walk in Your ways.
In Jesus Mighty name we pray, Amen.

    Psalm 51:10-13
10Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
so that sinners will turn back to you.
