  • Vision And The Holy Spirit

    Matthew 13:9-16
“9 He who has ears, let him hear.” 10 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” 11 He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. 14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: ” ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. 15 For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’ 16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.”

Vision does not come from the eyes but through the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit man has no vision. Without the Holy Spirit man is spiritually blind. In order to see the life God has for us we must first receive the Holy Spirit and allow Him to open our eyes to His will. It’s the same with our hearing Jesus said “He who has ears to hear let him hear.” Without the Holy Spirit we cannot hear what God is saying to us and in turn a man without guidance will wander aimlessly until he surrenders to The Spirit of God.

  • Our Nation, Sight, Vision, Our Eyes

    Proverbs 29:18
“Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.”

This nation is suffering because of its lack of vision of Who God is. Our nation is losing itself because it’s losing sight of God. Why are we losing sight of God? Because we are too busy trying to figure out how far we can push the line before what we are doing is considered sin or wrong. Instead of focusing on the things we want to do or think we want to do we need to start focusing on what God is instructing us to do and what His Word says is right and just. We are losing sight of what our country was founded on and what we as a church are suppose to do to preserve it’s traditional values and morals. This nation was founded on God and until we give it back to Him it will continue to fall apart and fall into a downward spiral. We can be the change, but first we need to ask God for the vision. We need to see Him again and we can only do that y repenting and asking Him to reveal Himself to us once more. God wants us to be leaders, so let’s start leading. God wants this nation’s heart back.
In Exodus 20:4-6 God says “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.” This nation has put it’s list for sin over God and God doesn’t take it lightly. God wants our souls back and we need to ask for His forgiveness and ask for His sight back and when we do He will forgive us just as He has promised in
1 John 1:19 where it says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Our nation can be saved but it starts with us and a repentant heart to our God and Saviour. Through Jesus we have hope and a future.image

  • The Promises Of God, The Word Of God, And The Holy Spirit

    1 Kings 8:56
“Praise be to the Lord, Who has given rest to His people, Israel just as He has promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises He gave through His servant Moses.”
The Bible is full of promises God has given to His children. Promises that we often forget about for many reasons. One reason being we are consumed by everyday things that we don’t focus on God, another is fear and doubt which sneak in and again redirect our attention to our circumstances instead of God, sometimes we just haven’t read some of the promises yet, or we didn’t take the time to study and pray about them, and there are so many other reasons we forget.
Regardless of whether we witness them or not God’s promises are fulfilled. God fulfills His promises for us on a daily basis. It’s just whether or not we notice them or not. I often wonder how many times God protected me from potential disaster or harmful situations. I remember one time when I was 10 years old a friend of mine’s parent was driving me home from their house and we had started driving but I hadn’t put on my seatbelt yet. While I was looking out the window I heard the Holy Spirit say to me “put your seatbelt on.” So I immediately did and less than a minute later a deer darted out in front of my friend’s car and he hit it. I jerked forward but thank God He warned me because instead of smashing my face against the chair in front of me or worse I only experienced some minor whiplash. In short God promises to protect us from the enemy and that was a day God fulfilled His promise to me. I went home that night instead of to a hospital.
Whenever I’m offered extra hours at work I stop and thank God for providing for me. It’s the big as well as the small things that God does for us that we should give thanks for. We see what we allow our eyes to be open to and closed to what we want them to be closed to. God’s Word is ever moving around us. God’s Word is living and through God’s Holy Spirit it breathes life into our very being. It’s something that can only be seen through the Holy Spirit but if we close our hearts and minds to Him then we will only see with the carnal eyes and our carnal sight is truly blindness.
I’ll put it this way, the Bible is like a 3D movie and the Holy Spirit like the glasses. Without the 3D glasses a 3D movie appears blurry and what is going on in the movie is often misunderstood because of the skewed vision of the viewer. But a 3D movie combined with the 3D glasses has life and dimension. The viewer can see every detail of the movie. The storyline comes to life and all of the behind the scenes complexity that went into the design of the movie all comes together and makes sense to the sight of the viewer.
What I’m saying is the Bible without the Holy Spirit cannot be understood by the human mind and heart. The corruption in a man’s heart and mind skews his vision and understanding of God’s Word. Therefore man cannot see nor comprehend all of the life that is offered to man in the Bible. The Bible says that the Word of God is foolishness to those who do not have the Holy Spirit. Which is why people like Miley Cyrus can say that it’s “fake”, they can’t see it and therefore they mock it.
I can’t even begin to explain the issues brought into a man’s heart by the fall, but I can explain this. All the answers you are looking for are in the Bible. Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again on the third day taking our punishment. The Bible says the penalty of sin is death (physically and Spiritually) a fact that we see every day. Our earthly bodies will die but Jesus died so that our spirit could live forever with Him. When we surrender our lives to Jesus we are covered by His sacrifice and we are made new. Every day He helps us to be better than we were the day before. God sees Jesus and forgives our sins. When we get saved we receive the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit guides us through God’s Word.

  • The Spirit Of God Gives Us Eyes To See

The Spirit of God gives us eyes to see and ears to hear both to see who He is and so that we may identify the enemy and his devices. If we truly seek God He will give us His vision so that we may see all that could hinder us and let’s face it satan trying to hide from God is like a little kid playing hide and seek. They stand out in the open with their hands over their eyes. Without God we are blind to satan and his schemes but with God we see it all.
